- 1/2 Cup Shortening
- 1/2 Cup Granulated Sugar
- 1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
- 1/2 Teaspoon Vanilla
- 1 Egg
- 1 Cup Sifted All Purpose Flour
- 1 Tablespoon Water
- 1/2 Teaspoon Soda
- 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
- 1 Cup Quick Cooking Rolled Oats
- 1 6 Ounce package ( 1 Cup ) Chocolate Chips
- 1/2 Cup Chopped Walnuts
Thoroughly cream shortening, sugars and vanilla. Beat in egg, then Tablespoon water.
Sift together flour, soda and salt. Add to creamed mixture, blending well.
Stir in oats, chocolate and nuts. Drop by teaspoons on to greased cookie sheet.
Bake 375 ° 10 - 12 minutes. Cool before removing from pan.
