Chocolate Sheet Cake

For the Cake

  • 2 cups un-sifted flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cups water
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 3 tablespoon cocoa
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon soda
  • pinch salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 eggs well beaten

 For the Icing

  • 1 stick margarine
  • 3 tablespoon cocoa
  • 6 tablespoon sweet milk
  • Powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup pecans chopped (OPt)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Mix flour and sugar.

In a saucepan put 1 cup water, margarine, shortening, and cocoa. Bring to a boil then pour over flour and sugar mixture. Add buttermilk, soda, salt and well beaten eggs.

Pour in a long pan and cook for 30 - 35 minutes. At 350 ° Fahrenheit.

Icing: In saucepan add margarine, cocoa and sweet milk. Bring to boil and add enough powdered sugar to thicken  Add pecan and vanilla. While hot pour over cake.
